Skylar Senior Pictures

I had the pleasure of taking senior pictures for Skylar, who is a senior at Blue Valley High School. I was really impressed when I met him and he had decided on the locations he wanted, had planned out what to wear at which location and even had some poses in mind. It was obvious from the beginning that Skylar loves his truck. So of course we took several pictures with it....it does look great in the pictures! We started out on a bridge, then to a corn field, and headed on to the wheat field for pictures with his truck. Skylar had a neat idea that he wanted a picture on the highway with both his truck and his dad's truck included in it....as he was parking the trucks, a County Sheriff drove up and stopped to ask if we needed any help....it was a lot of fun! Then we headed back to his house for some more pictures....I even made Mom and Dad pop in on a couple of the pictures! Skylar wanted to take a couple of pictures with his girlfriend, Carrie, so we ended the morning by taking pictures at a pond. They are a really cute couple!

Thanks again Skylar for letting me take your senior pictures....I had a great time!

APW VII--Flash Photography!

September 4th, Chris of La Brisa Photography (http://www.labrisaphotography.com/) held a mini-workshop to teach us some tricks about how to use flash, when we need it, when we don't, how to fill flash, etc. I arrived late not only because I had to work til 6, but I was not so good with the directions....and it was me not the directions.

Once I got there we had two subjects to photograph, Cade and Samantha. Cade was having a great time playing in the dirt, the grass, and with his truck. He even tried to climb over the fence! He is an adorable little boy! He was really excited to let everyone take his pictures once his mom let him know they could go get ice cream when they were all done. Samantha was our other model...she did a great job. We all had to laugh and tell her that we normally don't leave anyone in the same position for as long as we had her holding them, but she just kept on working it!

Thanks again Chris for another amazing workshop! Here are some of my favorites from the day:

Anderson Family--August 26, 2009

It has been a little while since I have taken any official pictures...mainly due to the fact that August is a very very busy month. I had the pleasure of taking family pictures for the Anderson family last Wednesday. Rain was in the forecast, but someone was looking out for us and made it stay away just long enough for us to get our pictures taken! We started at the Wamego City Park and then headed out to Pillsbury for some fun water pictures. We even snuck the family dog, Starsky, into a couple of the pictures. It had been a little while since I had seen the Andersons since they had moved away, so I was really happy to see them. I used to babysit the girls when they were little and I was afraid they wouldn't remember me, but they said they did so I'll take it! Thanks again for letting me take your pictures! Here are some of my favorites from the evening:
